Since the Zhabdrung affair, I haven't been on any field missions for Hestia. That's just fine with me!

When I'm not doing publicity shoots for Hestia, I sometimes take on worthy causes for other organizations. When I do consulting work, I tend to dress a little more fashionably.

Actually, this is just another publicity shot. And the tiger in the picture isn't me! It's a real tiger owned by a Bollywood animal wrangler. Her name is Asha, too!

This is how I write reports for Hestia.

I have learned that the last six years have seen a slow but pronounced increase in the number of cult related incidents. Certain very charismatic novas have apparently realized that they can do a holy man routine and get followers (and the follower's money) at the drop of a hat. Asia hosts several of the world's worst offenders, and their use of classic cult operating procedure is unmistakable: Separate victim from values-reinforcing peers/friends; find something "special" about victim; keep victim busy learning cult's values; evoke feelings of "family" or "true understanding" with other cult members to replace friends/family members; etc. Refer to your handbook on cults (or your Psych 101 text) if this stuff doesn't sound familiar.

a better picture, some thoughts

In my opinion the first picture of me was too Bollywood. Since I want to be a good rolemodel to all the Hindustani girls I have requested that this picture displaying modesty as well as strength should ought to be published!

People keep asking me why I'm called Slipstream. To be honest it does not have a thing to do with my nova powers. It was the name I used as a dancer in Calcutta. But it has nothing to do with dancing too! Actually I used to be a bicyclist. A slipstream is when you get behind another bicyclist and use their wind to pull you along. It was such a pretty word that I thought it would make a good name for a dancer.

I was never credited in any movies! Perhaps the name Slipstream will be remembered yet!

My social psychology education has become very useful recently, for I have been researching the common phenomena of Hindustani novas posing as gods. They say there are 6000 gods in India, and no person has kept very good track of them! It's 2007, the citizens of India should know better than to fall for simplistic tricks like this. Superstitiousness and arrogance of misguided novas together have led to the prevelance of fakirs.
It is nice having a forum to post my thoughts in, because I don't have to sound so official!

Namaste! My name is Asha, and I am a nova working Project Hestia! You can call me Slipstream. I won't bore you with the details of my training, but it was very difficult. It was the toughest two months of my life! But it was all worth it!
Now I am ready to use my tiger shape and my dancing to take a bite out of injustice in Asia.
